About the Author

Don Macke is the Senior Vice President with e2 Entrepreneurial Ecosystems (formerly the Center for Rural Entrepreneurship), by NetWork Kansas to build sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystems across North America. Don has over 45 years of community economic development and policy experience. He was most recently the Co-Founder and Co-Director of the national Center for Rural Entrepreneurship. Through this work, Don helps communities and regions throughout North America grow entrepreneur-focused economic development strategies and ecosystems.

Kate Pope Hodel, editor, directed the first efforts of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation to develop a national reputation in entrepreneurship. She supported programs such as FastTrac, the Kauffman Fellows Program, and the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor. Kate has helped build numerous entrepreneurial support networks through SourceLink and authored research reports such as We Create Jobs and We Create Capital for KCSourceLink. She is co-author of Beyond Collisions: How to Build Your Entrepreneurial Infrastructure.
